Earl T. Jeffries age 88, Joplin, Mo. passed away September 26, 2014 following an illness.
He was born October 3, 1925 in Linn Creek, Mo. to James and Vadina Vann Jeffries. Earl served in the United States from 1944 to 1946. He worked in the trucking industry for 48 years and was a member and deacon at the Forest Park Baptist Church and was currently attending Liberty Baptist Church in Webb City, Mo.
He married Anna Mary Mea Wilson on June 18, 1944 and she preceded him in death on June 5, 1971. Earl then married Dorothy Major on February 2, 1972 and she preceded him in death in 2005. Earl married Madeline Eichelberger and she survives. He is also survived by 2 sons; Earl Jeffries and wife Darlene of Joplin, Mo., Danny Jeffries, 2 daughters; Joyce Major, Joplin, Mo. Judy Schopshire and husband Ted, 1 brother; Carl Jeffries, Springfield, Mo. and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister Jeanetta Veith.
Funeral services will be at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary chapel with Pastor Gary Balfour officiating. Burial will follow at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to the Alzheimer Association in care of the mortuary.
