Madilene Taylor, age 91, of Lamar, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Truman Healthcare Center.
Madilene was born March 15, 1923, in Dale, Oklahoma, the youngest of the six children and only daughter of George and Hettie (Whitecotton) Belcher. Her five brothers included Jack, Clyde, Jerry, and twins, Floyd and Lloyd Belcher.
In addition to being a homemaker, Madilene had worked during her younger years in Oklahoma City for McClelland Warehouse and later made radio crystals at International Crystal Company. On September 21, 1974, at Lamar, Madilene married Clarence Conway “Connie” Taylor who preceded her in death August 21, 2000. She was a member of First Christian Church of Lamar.
Survivors include a son, Lance Lee Harmon of Forsyth, Missouri and a step-daughter, Marilyn Parnell of Lamar.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 9th at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lamar with Mike Gage officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Daniel Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to First Christian Church of Lamar in care of the funeral home.
