Lavina ReAnn Young

Lavina ReAnn Scritchfield Young, age 77, of Monett, MO passed from this life at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, November 29, 2015 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. She left lasting impressions on the lives around her. From taking photos of family, to gardening, her passions were a reaching hand demonstrating her love for others. 

Lavina ReAnn was born March 4, 1938 in Lamar, MO to Arthur Ray and Myrtle Mae Anderson Boyer. She moved to Monett 11 years ago from Ash Grove, MO She enjoyed spending time with family above all else displaying family photos as much and often as possible. She also enjoyed needle crafts, writing, and caring for her pets.

Lavina ReAnn was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Scritchfield, a sister, Dorothy Cornell, and a brother, Robert Boyer. She is survived by her husband, Terry Young, three daughters, Vicki Woods and husband Mike, Irving, TX, Julia Mangan and husband Kenny, Carthage, MO, and Kelly Steiner, Monett, MO, five sons, Russell Scritchfield and wife ReNee, Monett, MO, Jeff Scritchfield and wife Dana, Boulder, CO, Rick Scritchfield, Ozark, MO, Jeff Young and wife Lisa, St. Louis, MO, and Mark Young and wife Sherri, Sullivan, MO, three sisters, Iris Scritchfield, Springfield, MO, Virginia Perryman, El Dorado Springs, MO, and Elna Yount and husband Bill, Fremont, NB, 20 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the New Site Baptist Church, 1925 Farm Road 1060 in Monett with Rev. Aaron Wiebel Officiating. Visitation will follow the services. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society in care of the Mortuary. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of her life here with us. Though she will be sorely missed, we shed tears of joy for life’s moments we shared with her and know her tears are no more. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
