Walter Taylor, Jr., age 51, Sarcoxie, passed away at 2:08 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015 at Freeman West Hospital after a sudden illness.
Walter was born September 3, 1964 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to the late Walter Taylor, Sr. and Gladys Anderson Taylor. He graduated from Chickasha High School in 1982 and then graduated with a degree in communications in Langston, Oklahoma in 1986. He then moved to Joplin in 1996.
He worked as a C.N.A. for several years at several area medical facilities, recently being awarded Employee of the Year at Easy Living. He also worked as a cook at Downstream Casino and Resort and Denney's Restaurant. When not working, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Walter married Candice Ann Clancy in 1998 in Galena, Kansas. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Mary Gray, of Oklahoma City, Crystal Marie Dobson, Carthage; one son, Michael Lewis Dobson II, Sarcoxie; a sister, Shavonna Moore, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Billy Taylor, Michigan; two aunts, Lily Louis and Helen Anderson; grandchildren, Jaiden, Kai, Gabriel, Cristasia; nieces and nephews, Desmond Taylor, Tamika Taylor, Terrance Taylor, Terrel Taylor, Chanta Taylor, Laquan Taylor, Kalisha Taylor, Kobi Taylor, Heaven Taylor, Kristen Moore, Joshua Moore Jr., Desrick Moore, Elizabeth and Michael Savilla; mother and father-in-law, Geraldine and Phillip Lake of South Charleston, West Virginia; and a sister-in-law, Kimberley Savilla and her husband, Arnold, of Winfield, West Virginia; and several other extended family members.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 3-4:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.
Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Victor Washington will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
