Beatrice Woodfill

Mrs. Beatrice Winifred “Bea” Woodfill, 100, of Anderson, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at McDonald County Living Center in Anderson, Missouri.

Bea entered this life on April 5, 1919, in Anderson, Missouri, the only child born to Robert and Anna (Painter) Russell. On March 14, 1936, she was united in marriage to Mack Woodfill and to this union four children were born. Bea spent most of her life educating others. She graduated from Joplin Junior College and began her career teaching in a two-room schoolhouse in the Puckett Community in rural McDonald County. She and Mack moved their family to Tulare, California and Bea furthered her education at Fresno State College, teaching first grade for eighteen years. They returned home to Anderson in 1972. She taught an additional eighteen years with the McDonald County School District, retiring in 1990. She and Mack also operated Mack’s Big Rock Park in Pineville for over thirty years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pineville, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-seven years, Mack Woodfill on February 16, 2004; and a son, Gary Woodfill.








Bea is survived by her three children, Harry Woodfill and wife, Doris, of Anderson, Shirley Landers and husband, Arnold, of Lanagan, Missouri and Janet Perry and husband, Walter, of Tulare, California; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren (awaiting the arrival of one more); as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Woodfill are 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2019, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Pastor Leo Lenze officiating. Burial will follow in the Tracy Cemetery. Those honoring her life as pallbearers are Doug Landers, Mark Woodfill, Keith Woodfill, Bryan Lyster, Gary Landers and Drew Landers with Greg Landers serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Memorials are being directed to Tracy Cemetery Care Fund c/o the funeral home.
