Teri Walker

Terrell “Teri” Cunningham-Walker, 70, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Tuesday evening, October 22, 2019, at Freeman Hospital.

Teri was born July 24, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, to the union of Charles Hubbard and Violet Louise (Folger) Cunningham. She graduated from John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California.

Teri married Ronald Barnfather and together they had one son, Jayson. Teri relocated to Joplin, Missouri, in 2002, where she was a cook at Lumpy’s BBQ. She enjoyed going to the casino, researching her family history by genealogy and spending time with her family.

Teri was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, William “Buffy” Hammer; and four siblings, Charles Cunningham, Tami Shawn Birka, Larry Birka and John Birka. 








Survivors include her son, Jayson Barnfather, of Philan, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Alyson Barnfather of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Shanynn Iverson (Christian) of Guam; one great-grandson, Sylys Munoz; three siblings, Christina Rodriguez (Dom) of Santa Clarita, California, Darla Severn of San Diego, California, and Gary Hachtel of Boulder, Colorado; her significant other of 10 years, Bob Elledge, of Joplin; nieces, Karen Boyd (Steve) of Webb City, Missouri, Candice Butera (Roy) of Castaic, California, and Kira Hatchel; nephews, Ray Severn, Greg Severn, Kerry Severn and Jordon Hatchel; as well as a host of other nieces and nephews; great-nieces, Mariah Elise Butera, Stephanie Taylor (Brenton) and Kayla Boyd; great-nephews, Cruz Michael Dominic Butera and Travis Boyd (Jodi); and a host of other great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in California. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
