Paul Richard “Dick” Townsend of Miami, OK passed from this life Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Miami Nursing Center in Miami, OK. He was 84.
Dick was born February 20, 1935 in Picher, OK to Julius Paul and Frances (Elliott) Townsend. He graduated from Picher High School class of 1953 and attended N.E.O. A&M College in Miami. Dick served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Korea. He lived in Miami for the past 45 years moving from Quapaw, OK. He was an air conditioning and refrigeration technician for Miami Sales in Miami, OK and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Miami, OK.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers Dave Townsend and Bud Musgrove.
Survivors include his wife Carol (Parker) Townsend of the home, 1 son Paul Franklin Townsend and wife Teresa of Carthage, MO and 1 sister Mary Autry of Quapaw, OK.
Celebration of Life Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Rick Longcrier will officiate. Inurnment will follow at the G.A.R.
