Patsy Lou Durbin, 85, “Mema, Mom, Pat”, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at her home in Carl Junction, Mo.
Pat was born on August 4, 1934, in Perry, Okla., to John and Katie Krisher. Pat loved to work outside in her garden, sewing, and cooking. You couldn’t find a better cook. She never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by many.
On July 24, 1958, she married Leo Durbin in Newton, Kan. He survives at the home.
Pat worked at the snack bar for the Webb City High School while her children attended school there and could be easily heard or recognized at all her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events or any extracurricular activities they were involved in. She was their number one fan and very proud of them. She also worked at Tri-State Motor Transit. The most important job she held though was being a loving mother and grandmother.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
In addition to her husband of 61 years, Leo, Pat is survived by her children, Richard Durbin, Kathye Macy and her husband, Bryan, Shari Starkey and her husband, Sam, and Michael Durbin and his wife, Jackie. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Ryan Macy and partner, Matt Monroe, Samuel “Bo” Starkey, Cory Macy and wife, Katrina, Jacob Starkey, Katie Starkey, Tanner Durbin, and Tiffany Durbin. She is also survived by three nephews and a niece.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Mo. A private graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, in Perry, Okla., where she will be laid to rest with her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Freeman Cornell-Beshore Cancer Institute in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin.
