Roxanne Wickes, age 61, passed away Saturday morning, October 26, 2019 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Roxanne was born April 26, 1958 in Wilmington, NC. Her parents were Richard and Edith (Weaver) Martin. She had lived in Galena KS most of her life, moving to Joplin 7 years ago.
She was a homemaker. Roxanne’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed being outside, breathing fresh air and feeling the sun on her face.
She was first married to Tim A Green Jr on June 22, 1973. This marriage lasted 38 years.
Roxanne was later married to Mike Wickes on October 18, 2014 in Eureka Springs, AR. He survives.
Additional survivor include one son, Tim Green III (wife, Meredith) Galena; one daughter, Stephanie August, Joplin; 7 grandchildren, Emily Sturgis, Landon Sturgis, Alexandria Green, Hunter Green, Blake Green, Beau Green, and Jace Green; 2 great-grandchildren, Leyton Sturgis and Everlee Eckhardt; her sister, Pennie Burt (husband, Allyn), Joplin; two step-sisters, Teresa Biggs, Wichita, KS and Carol Witham, Baxter Springs, KS; one step-brother, Steve Martin, Joplin; and one niece, Molly Sears .
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one step-sister, Sharon Martin.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS. Pastor Bob Martin will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 -7:00 pm Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
