Carol Morrow

Carol M. Morrow was born Sept. 15, 1940 in Luverne, North Dakota to Nels M. T. and Clara M. (Myhre) Jorgensen. She entered into rest on October 20, 2019 in Joplin, Missouri, following an extended illness at the age of 79.

She graduated as salutatorian of the 1958 class at Luverne High School and earned a basketball scholarship to Concordia College. 

In the late 1960’s Carol relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona after her children were grown. She worked for the City of Phoenix as a Planning Technician, retiring in 2003 and relocating to Missouri in 2005 to be near to her children. She enjoyed various crafts, painting, sewing and needlework, especially creating blankets for babies. While raising her family, she participated in musicals, played guitar and accordion. She shared her daily life with her canine companion, Happy. 








Carol is survived by her two children, Cynthia Rae Forbes, (husband, Al Forbes, deceased) and Russell Ray Hietala and wife, Lora; one brother, David Jorgensen and wife, Jenel; and sister-in-law, Joyce Jorgensen. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Randy Ray Hietala, Donald Loren Hietala and Allen Eugene Hietala; a granddaughter, Rachel Marie Hietala; two brothers, Norman Stephenson and wife, Lucille, and Nels R. Jorgensen; and a sister, Dorothy Jorgenson and husband, Howard. 

A Memorial Service for Carol will be held on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at 1 pm at the Sheep Shed, 8471 Gateway Drive, Neosho. The family will receive friends following the service until 2:30 pm. Inurnment of the cremains will be in Luverne, North Dakota at a later date.
