Ronald J. Deckard, Sr., age 63, Webb City, passed away at 5:29 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2019 at Freeman West Hospital.
Ronald was born January 30, 1956 in Buffalo, Missouri to the late William S. 'Bud' Deckard and Mary M. Anderson Deckard and had lived in Joplin most of his life.
Ronald worked at Joplin Building Material for 36 years as a driver. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and frequently competed in tournaments, including the Joe Bass Tourney, sponsored by Bass Pro Shops. He never turned down an opportunity to shoot a game of pool. Family was first priority to Ronald. He would do anything for anyone and will be missed by everyone that knew him.
He married Kathy Bunch on July 14, 1979 in Carthage. She survives at the home.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Hodkin and husband, Shawn, Joplin; two sons, Ronald J. Deckard, Jr. and wife, Tiffany, Webb City, Alvin Koehler, Jane, Missouri; two sisters, Beverly Snow and Wilma Gilstrap, both of Joplin; and nine grandchildren.
The family is planning a celebration of life for Ronald on Sunday, November 3 from Noon until 2:00 p.m. at The Clubhouse, 115 N. Madison, Webb City.
