Charles Buchanan

Mr. Charles Elby Buchanan, 79, of Pineville, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday, October 17, 2019, in the comfort of his home after a sudden illness.

Charles entered this life on January 29, 1940, in Hindsville, Arkansas, born to the union of the late Clinton and Ila (Johnson) Buchanan. His formative years were spent in Hindsville, Arkansas. In 1975, he moved to Powell, Missouri. Charles worked in construction his entire life, working for Nabholz, Branco and Crossland Construction. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing and target shooting. Charles was of the Assembly of God faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Danny and Charles Buchanan; a grandson, Ronnie Todd; two sisters, Myrtha Ledbetter and Donna Ridenhour; and two brothers, Jimmy and Richard Buchanan.








Charles is survived by his five children, Rebecca Kelly of Gatesville, Texas, Tina Ruddick and husband, Jason, of Tiff City, Missouri, Chuck Buchanan and wife, Brenda, of Powell, Missouri, Stephanie Meador and husband, Joseph Drymon, of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Teresa Shockley and husband, Bryan, of Poteau, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two brothers, James Buchanan of Chandler, Oklahoma and Jerry Buchanan of Fairland, Oklahoma; a sister, Helen Fotenot of Wichita, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Buchanan are 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 21, 2019, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Lance Meador officiating. Burial will follow in the Peace Valley Cemetery in Anderson. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Chuck Buchanan, Travis Meador, Hunter Elliott, Joseph Drymon, Bryan Shockley and Brent Buchanan.
