Earl Dean Laughlin, Sr., age 70, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Tuesday morning, October 15, 2019 at his home with family by his side. Dean was born May 18, 1949 in Mound City, Missouri to the late William Earl Laughlin and Susan (Whipple) Laughlin.
Dean married Francis Dysart and to this union two children were born; they later divorced. He worked as owner/operator of ACME Auto Sales and Dimple’s Bar in Carthage. Dean enjoyed shooting pool, loved car shows, and doing upholstery work.
Survivors include his life companion of 39 years, Lee Ann Danner; three sons, Earl Dean Laughlin, Jr. (wife Anna), Carthage, Robby Danner (wife Amanda), Jasper, Missouri, and Jamey Danner, Carthage; one daughter, Misty Whetstone, Carthage; fifteen grandchildren, Taylor, Tearen, Bailey, Alex, Bradyn and Lilianna Danner, Brian Brogan, Evan, Andrew, Devin and Gerdy Thornsbrough, Rachel, Tyler and Grayson Laughlin, and Gavin VanGilder; and one great-grandson, Leighton Drew Danner.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Laughlin.
Memorial services will be held 1 pm, Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Knell Mortuary. Memorial gifts are suggested to Avalon Hospice in care of Knell Mortuary. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
