Mildred Morris

Mrs. Mildred Marie Morris, 93, of Neosho, Missouri, departed this life on Monday evening, October 7, 2019, in the comfort of her home after a recent decline in health.

Mildred entered this life on May 20, 1926, in Elvins, Missouri, daughter of the late James August and Grace Della (Gibson) Wann. She was raised in Elvins and was a 1944 graduate of Elvins High School. Mildred was an administrative assistant/secretary her entire working career. In 1958, she moved to Goodman, Missouri and for several years was employed by Rocketdyne in Neosho. In 1968, she moved her family to Covina, California, and was secretary of a large scientific research laboratory. She returned home to Neosho, Missouri in 1975 and was secretary for the Billy James Hargis Ministries. She was a faithful member and church secretary of Belfast Baptist Church near Neosho, Missouri. She enjoyed caring for animals, being outdoors and singing.








She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Willard Johnson and Glen Morris, Sr.; a son, Bruce Johnson; and three siblings, Jenny Crabtree and Chester and Clarence Wann.

Mildred is survived by her two children, Kathleen Lance and husband, Terry, of Noel, Missouri and Mark Johnson and wife, Sherry, of Neosho; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Belfast Cemetery near Neosho, Missouri, with Pastor Ric Stiegman officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Michael Johnson, Dillon Bohannan, Dustin Rhodes, Caleb Johnson, Christopher Klein, Mark Johnson, Terry Lance and Coleman Johnson.
