Jim Stewart

James Brandt Stewart was born Feb. 12, 1942 in Youngstown, Ohio. His parents were Bob and Vera Stewart and his siblings were Howard, Pete, Russell and Virginia, who are deceased.

John graduated from high school in Canton, Ohio. Jim’s dad came to Neosho to open the Linde plant as he worked for Union Carbide. Jim moved here and first worked at Frye and Gray. 

Jim married Billie Gofourth at Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho on Nov. 29, 1963. He then went to work for New Mac Electric where he worked until he retired. Jim was a lineman and then Line Superintendent and made many lifetime friends. Jim and Billie had a son, Cameron on Aug. 31, 1966 who now lives in Fenandina Beach, Florida with his wife Emily and their daughter Jordan Elizabeth and son, Ian. 








Jim and Billie have lived on St. John Street for over forty years and made many special friends. Jim was not well for some time and took his last breath on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 at 9:15 am. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. Contributions in memory of Jim may be made to Avalon Hospice, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
