Waneta Louise Day, age 92 of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at her home after a sudden illness.
Louise was born December 13, 1926 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, daughter of the late William Mark Creech and Goldie Mae Jones Creech. She graduated from Afton High School, and worked for St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma for several years in the dietary department before moving to Joplin in 1958. She was a stay at home mother who was devoted to her husband and children, and in her later years enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence R. "Bob" Day, who passed away on September 22, 2006, and a daughter, Marilyn Day.
Survivors include her children, Johnnie Lee Anderson, Dan Day and wife Trish, Frank Day and wife Penny all of Joplin, James Day of Kansas City, Missouri, Kathy Clemons and husband Jim, and Patricia Day also of Joplin; grandchildren, James, Robert, Daniel, Austin, Jama, Amanda, Brian, Bruce, Lisa, Chad, Mandie, and Angie; great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews including Judi Cox.
Graveside services will be Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Hope Cemetery, Afton, Oklahoma with Carey "Dutch" Danley and Rev. Charles Stillman officiating, and grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
