Chet Maynard

Chet Maynard, age 58, of Lamar, Missouri passed away October 19, 2019, at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, MO.

Chet was born May 8, 1961 in Paintville, KY to Oman Maynard and Pauline (Muncy) Maynard. Chet graduated from Osborne Kansas High School in the class of 1979. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force as a Meteorologist. On August 18, 1990, Chet married Alyssa Thornbrugh. Chet worked as a machine operator in the wood shop for O'Sullivan Industries for 20 years.

Survivors include Alyssa Maynard; a son, Tristan Maze, Lamar, MO; a daughter, Linsey Maynard, Joplin, MO; six sisters, Cathy (Richard) Reese, Augusta, GA, Colleen (Bryan) Logie, Richmond Hill, GA, Oma Baker and Larry Robinett, Golden City, MO Becci (Chris) Jones, Lamar, MO, Christy (Keith) Love, Nevada, MO and Ginger (Nathan) Beerbower, Ft. Scott, KS; a grandchild, Jameson Gorski and another grandchild to be born in March of next year, Rhys Maynard.








Preceding him in death were his parents Oman Maynard and Pauline Cooley and Don Bigelow, who was a father figure and mentor to Chet.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m, Thursday October 24, 2019, at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Nigh Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Contributions are suggested and made payable to the American Heart Association in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
