Vinita Barker

Vinita P. Barker, of Lockwood, MO, was born on July 19, 1924 in Diggins, MO to the late William and Dora (Stiegemeyer) Kollmeyer. She passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020, at the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility in Lockwood at the age of 96.

She was baptized as an infant at Diggins Lutheran Church and confirmed as a teen at Zion Lutheran Church in Meinert, MO. 

Vinita married Arthur J. Barker on September 30, 1945 in the Zion Lutheran Church in Meinert, MO, and they were married for 63 years.








Vinita was preceded in death were her parents, William and Dora Kollmeyer; her husband, Arthur Barker; an infant son, David Lynn Barker; one daughter, Annette Louise Easson; and three brothers, Ralph Kollmeyer, Homer Kollmeyer, and Elburn Kollmeyer.

Survivors include two daughters, Doris Lilienkamp and husband Mitchell of Carthage, MO and Brenda Cackley and husband John of Springfield, MO. In addition are seven grandchildren, Amy Dresslaer of Jasper, MO, Greta Putney, Wade Lilienkamp, Adam Lilienkamp and wife Ashley all of Carthage, MO, Darla (Cackley) Marler of Springfield, MO, Justin Cackley and wife Jacquelyn of Ozark, MO, and Cole Easson of Nashville, TN; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 in Lockwood Cemetery. Please observe all COVID -19 safety precautions.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran School or to the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility in Lockwood. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the staff of the Good Shepherd Community Care and Rehabilitation Facility for their compassionate care of Vinita for the past years and especially through this final illness.
