(From Weng Funeral Chapel)Elmer Eugene Foster, 95 formerly of Jasper, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage, MO. He was born on September 4, 1925 in Barton County, Missouri to Elmer Elisha and Elsie Day (Woodard) Foster.
Gene was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jasper, MO and the Gideon’s International.
Gene was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Wheeler on November 20, 1942. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2014. Survivors include two sons, Larry Foster and Bob Foster, two daughters, Gwenda Greer and Donna Waggoner, one sister-in-law, Pat Norwood, eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Gwendolyn, a son, Tom Foster, and two sisters, Edna Frost and Lucille Moss.
Services will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO. The family will receive friends on Monday, July, 12, 2021 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Mitchell Cemetery or the Gideon’s in care of the funeral home.
