(From Parker Mortuary)Charlotte Elaine Goddard, age 64, of Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Charlotte, daughter of the late Donald and Aquilla (Foster) Newkirk, was born on November 9, 1958, in Manhattan, KS. She moved to Joplin at the early age of seven with her family to make their home.
She was united in marriage to William Goddard on October 9, 1976 in Joplin. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, whose love of family was immense. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Life Change Outreach Church of Joplin.
Charlotte’s joy in life was her grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity and would spend endless hours to follow and support them in their sports and school activities.
Survivors include her husband, William Goddard, of Joplin; her children, Adam Goddard, and his wife, Jamie, of Joplin, Chantal Thomas, and her husband, Shawn, of Grove, Andrew Goddard, and his wife, Melissa, of Joplin, and Aquilla Qualls, and her husband, Adam, of Grove; siblings, Jimmy Newkirk, and his wife, Terilyn, of Webb City, Kathy Newkirk, of Joplin, LaShelle Dishman, and her husband, Randy, of Portland, TX, and Lisa Ingle, and her husband, Mike, of Joplin; 24 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by one brother, Dannie Newkirk; one granddaughter, Mattie Garner; and one great grandbaby Goddard.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Joplin. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, January 17th beginning at 10:00 AM until service time at the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
