(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Allowee E. Baker, 87 of Dadeville, MO, passed away on August 8, 2023 at the Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility in Stockton, MO.
Allowee was born on October 2, 1935 to the late Glen and Fae (Dodd) Chism. Her father and mother-in-law were the late Howard and Pauline (Todd) Baker. Allowee attended several grade schools and then later graduated from Stockton High in 1953.
While in high school she worked for the Cane Hill Country Store, and in 1952 she worked alongside Gene Paul Baker.
On June 19, 1953 Allowee married the love of her life, Gene Paul Baker, thereafter spending nearly 70 years together on the family farm. To this union three daughters were born, Ronda Jean, Donna June, and Penny Elaine. In 1952, Allowee and Gene were baptized together in a spring fed pool of water near Cane Hill, then known as the "city bathtub".
While Gene was serving in Korea, Allowee kept herself busy working at King's Dress Shop and Ready Wear in Stockton, MO. While there, she realized she enjoyed sewing and later became an accomplished seamstress making several outfits for her daughters.
Allowee was a devout Christian, worshipping at the Flint Hill and Bona Churches of Christ. She enjoyed Bible studies, teaching classes, and gospel meetings. She was a wonderful cook known for her pies, making two to 3 pies daily for the Dillard Brown construction company who built their new family home in 1971.

She leaves behind a cedar chest full of her cherished ones she had received through the years. She loved music, quilting, painting, bowling, and playing cards with her lifelong friends.
