(From Parker Mortuary)Julie Lynn Hook passed away on January 14th, 2024 at the age of 59. Julie was born to Donald Ray Anderson and Mary Joyce Anderson in Kansas City, Missouri on August 3rd, 1964 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the youngest of three siblings.
Growing up in Shawnee, Kansas, Julie attended Shawnee Mission North High School, these were some of her favorite years. During this time, she joined the Indianettes Drill Team, performing at football games and basketball games, Julie even got to choreograph some of her own dances.
Around the age of 14, Julie lied about her age to get a job at the local Wendy’s, it was here that she made some of her lifelong friends.
After high school, Julie attended Johnson County Community College where she received an Associate’s Degree. Shortly thereafter, she took a job at Mission Bank in Customer Service, eventually working her way up to being the Loan Officer at Vice President at Gold bank. Julie had a well-established position in the banking community of Kansas City. She ended her career at Arvest Bank, just before retiring at the age of 49.
In her free time, Julie loved spending time with her daughter, Kelsey and her many nieces and nephews. Over the years Julie spent many summers taking trips to the beach, especially to Destin, Florida with her daughter and family. Julie loved interior design and was known by her family and friends to be a great help when decorating. She took pride in helping her family and friends design, paint and decorate their new spaces.
Julie was preceded in death by her father Donald Anderson and her brother-in-law, John Michael “Mickey” Boles, Jr.

Julie is survived by her daughter Kelsey Hook; her mother, Joyce Anderson; her siblings, Mary Boles and David Anderson (Kelly); her nieces and nephews, Tina McAfee (Brad), Michael Boles, Jeff Boles (Alison), Jessica Morey (Caleb), Hannah Aldridge (Jonathan) and Holly Bennet (Paden); as well as, 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held at Parker Mortuary on January 20th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
