Harry Boyd

Harry Edward Boyd, age 78, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on February 11th, 2024, at Mercy Hospital.

Harry was born in Joplin, Missouri on December 16th, 1945, to his loving parents Eula-May (Martin) and George Boyd. He married his loving wife Mary Kay (Neu) on May 30th, 1969, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Harry went to Missouri Southern to complete a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He went on to work as a computer programmer for the civil service, including the Army, Navy and VA until he retired in 2011. Harry enjoyed tinkering with his HAM radio and spoiling the family dog as often as possible.

Harry is survived by his wife Mary, one daughter Jessi Katz, one sister Judy Rawlings, and two grandchildren Elijah and Natalie Katz. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother George Boyd Jr., one sister Sandra Bemis, and one son Matthew Boyd.

A celebration of life will be held by the family at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, February 15th, 2024, at The Vine Lutheran Church at 2722 S. Main St, Joplin, MO 64804 with a luncheon to follow.
