Patrick Nichols

Patrick Allen Nichols, passed away suddenly on January 29, 2024, at the age of 63. Born on November 9, 1960, in Joplin, Missouri, Patrick was a lifelong resident of the area, cherished by many for his friendly demeanor, handy skills, and passionate nature.

Patrick was the beloved son of Robert Nichols and Sue Holden Waldo and a proud father to his three children, Sean Nichols of Webb City, Tiffany Nichols of Joplin, and Jennifer McCrary of Webb City. His joy was multiplied by his grandchildren, Taylor, Kylie, Levi, Kamaria, and Nevaeh, who will remember their grandfather with immense love and countless fond memories.







After attending Joplin High School, Patrick's commitment to his community was evident early on. He continued his education at the police academy, which paved the way for his initial career as a police officer with the Webb City Police Department. Patrick's dedication to public service was a testament to his character, and his work as an officer left a lasting impact on those he served.

After his time in law enforcement, Patrick transitioned into the private sector, where he held various positions. He worked with Mizzou Aviation and Bagcraft before eventually retiring from Regal Plastics due to health issues. Throughout his diverse career, Patrick's work ethic and ability to connect with colleagues were hallmarks of his professional life.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Patrick was known for his love of riding his Harley motorcycle. The open road was a source of freedom and joy for him, and he could often be found exploring the highways and byways, wind in his hair and a smile on his face.

Patrick's life was one of engagement and enthusiasm. Whether he was tinkering in his garage, sharing stories with friends, or spending time with his family, he did so with a warmth and generosity that drew people to him. His presence was a comfort, and his laughter was infectious.








Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Robert; loving wife, Bobbie Woody Nichols; brothers, Bob, Mike and Jody Nichols, as well as a sister, Jacquelyn Sue.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary in Joplin with a visitation to follow.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
