Tommy Melton

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

Tommy Glenn Melton, age 66, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Noel, Missouri, on Monday, January 30, 2024, following a brief illness. Born on June 22, 1957, in Midland, Texas, Tommy's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, hard work, and family.

Raised in the heart of Midland, Tommy graduated from high school in 1976, embodying the spirit of his beloved hometown. He lived in Midland until 2003, when he moved his family to Noel, Missouri, a place he would come to hold dear.

Tommy's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when he founded Tommy's Tint Works in 1987, a business he owned and operated with dedication and pride. Known for his strong work ethic, Tommy was a hardworking family man who poured his heart into every endeavor.

Tommy's life was rich with interests that reflected his love for the great outdoors. He found joy in going to the lake, spending time at the shooting range, and visiting theme parks. A fan of football, he enjoyed the camaraderie and excitement of the game. Above all, Tommy's greatest pleasure came from spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Tommy's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife of nearly 37 years, Audra Melton, who was his partner in all things and his rock throughout their life together. Their life was blessed with five children: Miranda Sowell, Jeremy Melton, Torrey Melton, Brittney Melton and her husband Brandon Polk, and Cameron Melton and his wife Jessica. Tommy's joy was multiplied with the arrival of each of his seven grandchildren: Kaedyn, Julian, Brylee, Bently, Brielle, Rylen, and Cason, who will forever cherish the moments they shared with their doting grandfather.

Though he was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Wayne and Peggy Neil (Locke) Melton, and his brother, Jimmy Melton, Tommy's memory will be honored and kept alive by his extended family, including his brothers-in-law, Philip Merworth and his wife Lisa, and David Scribner and his wife Kathy. A host of other family members and friends will also feel the absence of Tommy's warm presence.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Pineville, Missouri, with Pastor Leo Lenze officiating. Burial will follow at Butler Creek Cemetery near Sulphur Springs, Arkansas. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Melton, Torrey Melton, Cameron Melton, Nate Merworth, Aubry Merworth and Jason Merworth. The family will receive friends on Thursday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
