Robert "Bob" C. Ward, 74, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018, at his home.
He was born June 7, 1943, at Pittsburg, KS, to Ralph H. and Helen (Wuerdeman) Ward. Bob attended local schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School. He received his associate's degree in HVACR from Pittsburg State University.
Bob served in the United States Army National Guard during Vietnam.
He was owner/operator of Bob's Heating and Air Conditioning since 1982. Prior to that he had taught at Lamar Tech School.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Dawn Makovec of Pittsburg, KS, two brothers, Don Ward and his wife, Patty of Lecanto, FL, and Dale Ward and his wife, Mary of Joplin, MO; a grandson, Aaron Makovec of Pittsburg, KS; two nieces, Gretchen DeMasters and family of Joplin, MO, and Amy Ballard and family of New Port Richie, FL; a nephew, Brian Ward and family of Joplin, MO.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 23, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Brenner Mortuary. Private family burial will take place at a later date in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Angels Among Us. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
