Russell A. Murdock, age 56, of Neosho, Mo., passed away on Friday May 11, 2018, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Russ was born on February 25, 1962 in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Frank and Joy (Venable) Murdock. He served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Rocketdyne Rd., and for the past two years he worked as a production supervisor for Tyson’s. Prior to that, he worked at Scepter Manufacturing in Miami, Ok. Russ loved riding his motorcycle and enjoyed collecting guns. Most of all, Russ loved his family!
He is survived by his wife, Deena (Spencer) Murdock, whom he married on October 7, 2017 in Webb City, Mo. Also surviving are his parents, Frank and Joy Murdock, Excelsior Springs, Mo.; two sons, Matt Murdock, Gladstone, Mo. and Zach Murdock, Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Jess Murdock, Liberty, Mo.; one step-son, Brandon Barnes, Neosho, Mo.; three step-daughters, Chelsea Kingry and husband David, Neosho, Mo., Ali Waite and husband Dalyn, Rexburg, Id., and Krista Moser and husband John, Neosho, Mo.; two brothers, David Murdock and wife Mary, Cameron, Mo. and Jason Murdock and wife Jamie, Independence, Mo.; two grandchildren, Brylee and Brody, and three step-grandchildren, Kason, Cruz, and Bladen; 5 nieces, 5 nephews and 2 uncles, and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Gary Bell, Minister, will officiate. The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
The family is asking that donations be given to the Russ Murdock Memorial Fund that has been established at Community bank and Trust in care of the Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
