Richard M. Knoblauch age 85, from Carl Junction, Missouri passed away peacefully with his wife, children, and grandchildren at his bedside.
He was born in Rural Verona, Missouri in Lawrence County June 15, 1932. His parents were I.J. and Audrey (Harrall) Knoblauch. Richard attended Verona Elementary and High School graduating in 1950. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. Richard graduated from Southwest Missouri State College in 1958 with a B. S. in Education Degree and a Master’s Degree in Biology.
He met and married Nina Ham, also from Verona, Missouri on October 17, 1957 and she survives him at their home. They were blessed with two children; a son, Kurt Knoblauch and wife Marcia; one daughter, Marti Shelton; four grandchildren, Zachary Knoblauch, Faith Knoblauch, Jamie Shelton, and Joseph Shelton. His teaching career spanned 30 years. He was a member of the Verona Christian church, Carl Junction United Methodist Church, Lions Club, Elks Club, and Kiwanis. Professional memberships were, Missouri State Teachers Association and National Association of Biology. Richard’s favorite hobbies were wood carving, and gardening. We the family humbly thank our Blessed Lord God for having shared this kind, good and gentle loving person into our lives. There are no services planned at this time.
