Ronald Gunlock, age 79, Joplin, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in Mercy Hospital.
He was born October 31, 1938 in Joplin, the son of Albert and Elsie Drake Gunlock. Ronald graduated from Neosho High School in 1956. He married Dortha Kingry on November 7, 1959 in Neosho.
Ronald worked for Eagle Picher for thirteen years. He later worked for Midway Sheet Metal before starting Gunlock Heating and Air on April 1, 1985. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Neosho.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, J.R. Gunlock and one sister, Carlene Cox.
Survivors include his wife, Dortha; three sons, Kendall Gunlock and wife Sheila, of Joplin, Kevin Gunlock and wife Terri, of Joplin and Kelly Gunlock and wife Dana, of Neosho; five grandchildren, Cody Gunlock, Caleb Gunlock, Levi Gunlock, Luke Gunlock, and Paden Gunlock; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Griffin, of Joplin and Farol Newdiger, of Neosho; one brother, Richard Gunlock of Ash Grove, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and countless treasured friends.
Funeral services are planned for Saturday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Neosho with Pastor Todd Decker officiating. Burial will follow in Osborne Memorial Park, Joplin.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Cox, Brad Allen, and Ronald’s grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Gunlock, Tim Newdiger, David McCulley and Doug McCulley.
Visitation will be Friday, May 11 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church in care of the mortuary, online at www.fbcneosho.com, or mailed to 12325 MO-86, Neosho, Missouri 64850.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
