Erman C. ‘Jr.’ Jay, 64, Racine, MO, entered into rest on May 14, 2018 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin at the age of 64, following a lengthy illness.
Jr. was born April 6, 1954 in Joplin, the son of Erman C. and Dixie (Triplett) Jay. He was a lifelong area resident and had worked as a carpenter and as a line supervisor at Daisy Manufacturing. He was a Golden Gloves Champion Boxer, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. He was of the Apostolic Faith.
Jr. is survived by his mother, Dixie of the home; two sisters, Irma Lee Cornell and husband, Steve and Sandra Jean Hatfield and husband, Gary, all of Neosho; special cousin, Jim Daniels of Joplin and numerous nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Erman and sister, Alice Marie Sundy.
Services will be Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10 am at the Racine Lighthouse Apostolic Church, Kelly Sampson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Burkhart Cemetery. Friends may call at the Clark Funeral Home on Thursday from 9 am until 5 pm.
