Charles “Chuck” Carr, 64, passed away on May 11, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Chuck was born June 25, 1953 to William “Louis” and Tempie (Brannon) Carr. He was a lifelong area resident. He was a strong, devoted Christian and had served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was valedictorian of Parkwood High School and graduated summa cum laude from both Missouri Southern (College) University and Southwest MO State University, receiving a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, and Finance. He had worked for Eagle Picher Industries, Southeast Manufacturing, and Neosho Box.
Chuck and his wife, Carol, were married April 19, 1980 in Joplin; she survives of the home. Additional survivors include five children: Jeff Carr and wife, Elizabeth, Dr. Robert Carr and wife, Sarah, Dr. John Carr and wife, Elizabeth, Dr. Casey Carr and wife, Sara, and Riva Finley and husband, Kris; five grandchildren: Sophia Carr, Preston Carr, Isabelle Carr, Charles Carr, and Michael Finley; one brother, William Carr; one cousin, Nancy Serage; and his dog, Pooch.
Chuck enjoyed model railroading, old movies, and taking his dog on walks.
Graveside services will be 2:30 pm, Monday, May 14 at Neosho IOOF Cemetery.
