Michael Klarner

Michael Patrick Klarner, 60, Alba, MO, passed away Saturday morning, May 19, 2018 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO.

A resident of Alba for over 20 years, Michael served in the United States Army. He served in Germany, Fort Lewis, Washington, and Panama. In 1981, he was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist, Fourth Class. In 1992, Mike married his wife of 26 years, Lisa Ellison. Michael had worked as a forklift operator for Leggett and Platt and Schreiber Foods of Carthage, MO.

Michael was born in Heidelberg, Germany to the late William H. Klarner and Wanda (Neatherry) Klarner on January 26, 1958. He graduated from Carthage High School, Class of 1976. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping vacations with his family. He inspired his sons’ participation in ROTC, canoe trips, and history of our local community. A passionate and faithful father, his loved ones will always remember his constant dedication to care for his family. Michael was proud of his two sons, Quenten Klarner of Kansas City, MO, and Robert Klarner of Rolla, MO.

Michael is survived by his wife, Lisa (Ellison) Klarner; his two sons; a sister, Jody Campbell (husband Bill); a brother, William “B.I.” Klarner; and several nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his mother Wanda F. Klarner, his father, William H. Klarner, and his brother, Thomas Archidipane and wife Mary.

Visitation will be held 1-2 pm, Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Services will follow the visitation at 2 pm. Minister Clint Silvertooth will officiate. Per Michael’s wishes, cremation will take place and private graveside services will be held at a later date in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield, MO.
