Nelma M. Lawrence age 87 of Webb City, Missouri passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Joplin Gardens.
She was born on May 30, 1930 in Sarcoxie, Missouri to John J. Burkey and Susie T. (Carmichael) Burkey. She was in packing at Safeway Bakery in Joplin before her retirement.
Nelma married James Lawrence on April 18, 1952 in Webb City, Missouri and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2014. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Nelma is survived by her son, Jeffery Lawrence of Webb City; grandson, Dustin Lawrence of Springfield, Missouri; and a daughter in law, Bobbie Lawrence of Joplin, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. The family will be present for visitation on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Nashville Cemetery.
