Dean Anderson

Shirley Dean Anderson, 83, Granby, MO entered into rest May 15, 2018. 

 He was born Nov. 7, 1934 in Fredericktown, MO to Everett and Rhonda Anderson. He was a graduate of Ritchey School and a veteran of the US Army. Dean was a self-employed truck driver, driving for both Farley Trucking and Tri-State Transit Co. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, had never met a stranger, and never missed Spencer’s Rodeo. He was known as “Elvis” to his family and friends. He was a member of the Granby Church of Christ. 

 Dean married Martha (Hawkins) Anderson Nov. 14, 1980; she preceded him in death on May 31, 2017. He is survived by one daughter, Shirley Morris; one brother, Harry Anderson; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Dean was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Connie Anderson Vance; four brothers; and four sisters.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby, with Bobby Stafford officiating. Interment, will full military honors, will follow at Newtonia IOOF Cemetery, with Kaden LaFleur, Joe Vance, Jace Parmley, Jim Parmley, Chris Hawkins, Joe Morris, and Billy Morris serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 20 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
