Shirley J. Palmer, 82, Diamond, entered into rest on May 31, 2018 at Granby House in Granby, following a lengthy illness. Shirley was born Aug. 30, 1935 in Granby, the daughter of Ivan L. and Mary (Cook) Casey. She was a lifelong area resident of Granby and Diamond and a homemaker. She loved to the go to the lake, fishing and cooking. Shirley married George F. ‘Bud’ Palmer and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2010. She is survived by her children, Billy Palmer of St. Paul, MN; Louise James of Neosho; Dana Mittag of Galena, KS; Buddy Palmer and wife, Deborah of Lewisville, TX; Todd Palmer and David Palmer of Diamond; two brothers, Larry Casey of Granby and Danny Casey; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a special lifelong friend, Patty Volz of Diamond. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Danny Palmer and two brothers, Jerry Casey and Leslie ‘Lec’ Casey.
Graveside services for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11 am at the Diamond Cemetery, Larry Casey will officiate. The family will received friends on Monday from 2 to 4 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
Memorial contributions in honor of Shirley may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or Susan J. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
