Gale Kester

Gale G. Kester, 93, Carthage, MO, passed away Thursday evening, May 24, 2018 at Spring River Christian Village, Joplin, MO. Gale Glenn Kester was born February 19, 1925 in Carthage to the late William C. Kester and Blanche S. Keck. He graduated from Carthage High School, Class of 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the China, Burma and India theater earning two Bronze Stars. Gale married Evelyn Mae Glines on December 30, 1945 in Columbus, KS. They loved golf and their family. Evelynpreceded him in death on March 20, 1983. Gale was employed by Atlas/ICI Explosives for 39 years. He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage.

Gale is survived by one son, Harry Kester and wife Judy of Carthage; one daughter, Cherryl Grundy of Carthage; three grandchildren, Eddie Grundy and wife Melanie, Stacey Chapman and husband Dustin, and Clifton Kester and wife Emily, all of Carthage; and three great grandchildren, Lola Chapman, Hannah Grundy, and Elliott Kester, all of Carthage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son-in-law, Edwin Grundy, one granddaughter, Angela Kester, two sisters, Blanch Talley and Ruth Knight, and seven brothers, George, Ernest, Harry, Carroll, Dwight, Clarence, and Fred Kester.
