Gary Lee Hopper, Granby, MO passed away May 19, 2018, at the age of 69 years, 2 months, and 27 days. He was born Feb. 22, 1949 in Stella, MO to Leonard and Hazel May (Tanner) Hopper. A lifelong area resident, Gary served in the US Navy during the Viet Nam Conflict and worked 43 years in maintenance for Schreiber Food in Mt. Vernon, MO. He was a fan of NASCAR. Gary was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Gary and Patricia (Sachs) Hopper were married June 26, 1980 in Miami, OK; she survives of the home.
Additional survivors include four children: Scotty Ray Hopper of Stillwater, OK, Samuel Ryan Hopper of Joplin, MO, Mary Dennis of Dallas, TX, and Michael Stanton of Poway, CA; two brothers: Timothy Hopper of Des Moines, IA and Michael Hopper of Neosho, MO; three sisters: Faye Robertson of Hepzibath, GA, Nancy Hollingsworth of Il, and Kay Pugh of Neosho, MO; eleven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by one sister, Connie Bohannon and one brother, Larry Hopper.
Memorial services will be held at 10 am, June 16, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Granby, MO, with Bishop Paul Carter officiating. A celebration dinner will follow services.
