Gene Hubert Seat, age 79, Galena, Kansas, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Quaker Hill Nursing Center after a sudden illness.
Gene was born August 10, 1938 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to the late Clifford Seat and Lois Malone Seat.
He worked as a truck driver all of his adult working life and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Seat and his wife, Cheryl, Texas; a daughter, Teresa Parker and husband, Jim, Indiana; grandchildren, Devin, Kevin, Jamie, Sarah; sister-in-law, Helen Seat, Joplin; and special friends, Bill and Karen Channel, Joplin.
In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a brother, Loyd Seat.
Graveside services are planned for Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
