Dorothy Jean Ray, age 86, former resident of Joplin, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Azria Health Care Facility in Olathe, KS.
She was born December 1, 1931 in Lowell, MA to the late George S. Dickison and Julia A. Hobbs Dickison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Dickison and Bruce Dickison and loving companion, Wilbur Wright.
She worked and volunteered for many hospitals in public relations, retiring from Joplin Nephrology Clinic.
Jean was a member of Mt. Hope Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Bradley Shepard and his wife, Teresa of Key West, FL; two daughters, Kelly Shepard of Joplin; and Kim Mangone and her husband, Philip of Texas; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and two special nieces, Judith Colisante and Nancy Dickison, both of Joplin.
Memorial services are planned for 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary. The family will receive friends following the service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
