Angel Hayes

Angel J. Hayes, 48, Neosho, entered into rest on Sept. 5, 2018, following an accident.

Angel was born Oct. 5, 1969 in Dekalb County, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph E. and Juanita (Anderson) Hayes. She moved to the southwest Missouri area in 1979 from Illinois. Angel graduated from MSU with a master’s degree in education and a specialist degree in early childhood development. She began her teaching career in Pierce City and then began teaching in the Neosho R-5 district, starting at Field School and currently teaching at Benton, teaching for 25 years. She loved animals, loved being a teacher and the kids she taught, she loved her family and was a strong Christian. Angel was a member of the Neosho First Baptist Church. 

 She is survived by her mother, Juanita Hayes, her son, Heath ‘Rowdy’ Hayes, both of Neosho; five brothers, Ralph Hayes, Monett, Steve Hayes, Monett, James Hayes, Monett, Heath Hayes, Pierce City and Jarrod Hayes, Everton, MO; two sisters, Jeannie Hayes of Cassville and Dove Hayes of Joplin and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Ralph, July 30, 2018 and sister, Dawn Elizabeth Hayes, June 10, 1993. 

Services will be Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at 1:30 pm at the First Baptist Church, Neosho, Dr. Todd Decker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Heath Hayes, Ralph Hayes, Steve Hayes, James Hayes, Heath Hayes, Jarrod Hayes, Brandon Hayes and Mason Hayes. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation Friday evening from 5 pm – 7 pm at the First Baptist Church. Contributions in memory of Angel may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
