Kathryn Louise "Kay" Edwards, age 75, Joplin, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at a local nursing center.
Kay was born December 20, 1942 in Marshall, Missouri, daughter of the late Rev. Robert Chenoweth and Ruth Duncan Chenoweth. She graduated from Webb City High School in 1960. She worked for many years as an Avon salesperson, retiring as a Group Sales Leader. She also worked for years as a desk clerk for local hotels and motels, including the Thunderbird, and the Baymont in Joplin. She was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church of Webb City. She was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, and was especially cherished by all the grandchildren who enjoyed the time spent with "Nanny".
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Edwards who passed away in 1983.
Survivors include her children, David Mascher and wife Liz, Cindy Henry and husband Bryan, and Christy Hughes and husband Ron all of Joplin; sisters, Ann Anderson and husband Bill of Houston, Texas, Betty Fisher and husband Jerry of Webb City; grandchildren, Jennifer Junghans and husband Jeremy of St. Charles, Missouri, Doug Mascher and wife Jennifer of Joplin, Ashley Hurley and husband Jake of Seneca, Missouri, Becca White and husband Jon of Joplin, Danielle Henry and Landen Hughes both of Joplin; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel Baptist Church of Webb City with Pastor Kyle Beverlin officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service at the church.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
