Anita Purvis

Anita M. Purvis, 79, Neosho, Mo., entered into rest on Tuesday September 18, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family. Anita was born June 22, 1939 in Neosho, the daughter of Everett and Margie (Combs) Shockley. Anita was a lifelong resident of Neosho. Anita married James Purvis who preceded her in death on July 31, 2011, after 49 years of marriage. Anita attended Neosho Schools.

Anita was a homemaker. Anita enjoyed spending time with her loved ones, fishing, playing bingo and garage sales.

Anita will be missed by three daughters and one son; Vicki Kaylor and husband Larry of Neosho, Susan Henry and husband Neil of Neosho, Marianne McCumber and husband Charlie of Galena, Ks. And James (Jimmy) Purvis and wife Angie of Jasper, Mo., her beloved dog, Pappy, one brother; Mike Shockley and wife Ann of Springfield, two sisters; Sandra McKinley and husband Melvin of Neosho, Sharon Berryhill of Golden City, eleven grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren. Anita was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Margie (Combs) Shockley, her son Mark Self and her grandson Charles “Trey” McCumber.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Chapel with Jerry Seigel officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
