Leanor L. Landreth, 88, Stark City, entered into rest on Sept. 7, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Leanor was born Feb. 20, 1930 in Neosho, the daughter of Thomas ‘Tommy’ and Nettie (Newdiger) Philliber She lived most of her life in Newton County, with the exception of ten years spent in Alaska and had worked in food service and was a homemaker. She loved to can, cook and was known to many as the ‘pie lady’. She was a member of the Merrymakers extension and club and a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.
Leanor married Roy Laverne Landreth on Jan. 15, 1952 in Bentonville, AR and he preceded her in death. She is survived by five children, Louis Tomlin, Jr. and wife, Brenda of Charleston, SC; Thomas Dale Landreth, Newtonia; Deborah Jean Dunlap and husband, John of Neosho; William David Landreth of Newtonia and Daniel Mark Landreth and fiancé, Marsha of Newtonia; one brother, George Philliber and wife, Charlotte of Newtonia; five grandchildren, Jason Broach, Amy Broach, Aaron Tomlin, Nicholas Landreth and Melissa Glades, eight grandchildren and numerous extended family. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers.
Services will be Wed., Sept. 12, 2018 at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby, Pastor Buddy Funk and Rev. Dr. William Doubek will officiate. Interment will be in the Newtonia IOOF Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Dr. Kenton Beard, Brad Lett, Jacob Lett, Jacob Brashears, Keith Kohley and Zachary Aldridge. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation from 1 pm until service time Wednesday.
