Stephen Wilson

A celebration of life service was held Saturday, Aug. 25, at Fellowship Congregational Church (UCC) in Tulsa for Stephen Earl Wilson, 62, who died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, in Tulsa.
Memorial gifts may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Survivors include his partner of 32 years, John Mercer; his mother, Verna Mae, Golden City, Mo.; a sister, Linda Klender and husband Michael, Kansas City, Mo.; a beloved nephew, Thomas Klender, a student at University of Arkansas, Fayetteville; several aunts and uncles, Dale Flenniken and wife Karalyle, Jasper, Mo., Shirley Flenniken, Carthage, Mo. and Harold Scott, Bakersfield, Calif. and many cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow. 

Mr. Wilson was born March 7, 1956, in Golden City, Mo., to Clinton Woodrow and Verna Mae (Flenniken) Wilson. He was a 1974 graduate of Lockwood (Mo.) High School. He worked for United Missouri Bank in Carthage and Joplin. He received an accounting degree from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin.

He will be remembered not only for his lavish baking talents, but for being a kind, gentle and brilliant man.
