Becky Copeland

Rebecca “Becky” Knight Copeland, 56, of Plainview passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. A visitation will be held 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday evening, September 26, 2018 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Plainview with Rev. Mike Shafer officiating.

After the services in Plainview, another visitation will be held at Jackson Funeral Home in Frederick, Oklahoma at 3:00 P.M. with a graveside services to follow at 5:00 P.M. at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jenny Wynn officiating.

Also a memorial service will be held in Carthage, Missouri at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church with a visitation to follow.

Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview and Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick, Oklahoma.

Becky was born on June 29, 1962 in Carthage, Missouri to John and Erma Knight. She grew up just outside of Carthage in Jasper and graduated from Jasper High School in 1980. She graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a BS in Business and graduated from Washington University School of Medicine Health Administration Program with a Master’s Degree in Health Administration. While in St. Louis at Washington University,

Becky met her fellow classmate Bob and they were married after graduation on June 7, 1986 in Oklahoma City, OK. Throughout their married life, Becky and Bob lived in Oklahoma City, OK; McAlester, OK; Jonesboro, AR; Tulsa, OK; Branson, MO; Carthage, MO, and now Plainview, TX. In each of these communities, Becky became an active member and developed warm and loving friendships. She was an active supporter and volunteer in each hospital she and Bob served. On March 3, 2002, their daughter Miriam Elizabeth Copeland was born. Becky devoted her time and attention to Miriam and was very active in all stages of Miriam’s life, including Miriam’s Equestrian events.

Becky was preceded in death by her parents John and Erma Knight.

Survivors include her husband Robert “Bob” Copeland of Plainview; daughter, Miriam E. Copeland of Plainview; three brothers, Cy Knight and wife Cid, Willie Knight and wife Donna, Gale Knight all of Carthage; sister, Mary Knight and husband Bill Herron of Carthage, Missouri; sister-in-law, Winona Knight of Carthage, Missouri; niece like a sister, Carlene Bridges of Carthage, Missouri; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friends Mike and Sharon Dickey of Frederick, Oklahoma.
