Robert M. Grubb, age 69, passed away at 1:00 PM, Monday, September 10, 2018 at Freeman West Hospital following an illness.
Mr. Grubb was born September 23, 1948 in Joplin. His parents were Dr. Paul M. and Mildred I. (Harreld) Grubb. He had lived in the Joplin – Galena (KS) area all of his life.
He grew up in Galena, graduating from Galena High School with the class of 1966. He later attended colleges at Pittsburg and Joplin. He had worked at Fiberlite Technologies in Joplin for the past 33 years serving as Vice President of Operations.
He was a member of the Home Builders Assoc. of Joplin and Springfield, MO and was past-president of CIMA. He was a member of the Joplin Masonic Lodge. His pastimes were target shooting, playing golf, and caring for his pet dogs.
Robert was married to Patricia Ann Whittaker on July 23, 1983 in Springfield. She survives.
Additional survivors include 4 sons, Paul Grubb (Christina), Joplin, Nate Grubb (Julie), Webb City, Bryan Grubb (Heather) Joplin, and Sean Grubb, Joplin; one daughter, Misti Ketchum (Robert) Broken Arrow, OK; one brother, Warren Grubb (Cheryl), Dove Creek, CO; one sister, Paula French (Mike), Galena; and 6 grandchildren, Anthony Grubb, Derrick Grubb, Zak Ketchum, Alexis Grubb, Kyler Grubb, and Kenadi Grubb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John Mark Grubb, one sister, Johanna Grubb, and a daughter-in-law, Colee Grubb.
Funeral services will be at 6:00 pm, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 -6:00 pm, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Joplin Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
