John E. Crouch, age 93, of Joplin, Mo. passed away on August 31, 2018, at Mercy Hospital, following a short illness.
John was born on August 23, 1925 in Joplin, Mo., the son of the late Thomas M. Crouch, Sr. and Synthia (Edward) Crouch. John was a lifelong area resident. John served as president of the former Crouch’s Foundry and was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church. John married Joanna G. Walters on December 31, 1947 in Joplin, together they raised two sons. He loved woodworking.
John is survived by his wife of seventy years, Joanna Crouch, Joplin; two sons, Kenneth Crouch and wife Shirley, Catoosa, Ok., and Gayle Crouch and wife Janice, Oklahoma City, Ok.; one sister Lois Largent and husband Jim, Joplin; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Crouch, Jr., Bill Crouch, and Elbert Crouch, and two sisters, Mildred Crouch and Pauline Edge.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Forest Park Baptist Church. Reverend John Swadley will officiate. Burial will be in Stone Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Church prior to the service.
Contributions may be given to the Joplin Humane Society in care of the Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
