Dr. Donald E. Webb, 81, Diamond, Mo., passed away Wednesday, September 19, at his home.
Don was born October 14, 1936, in McDonald County, MO, the son of Dewey Webb and Idabel (Chase) Webb. He attended Puckett School and graduated from Neosho High School. He entered the US Army in 1954 and served in Okinawa, Japan and South Korea. Upon his return from the military, Don attended barber school in Wichita, KS and owned a barber shop in Mission, KS for several years.
Don was introduced to the love of his life, Lucille (Pendergrass) Webb in Kansas City. They were married on November 14,1959 and lived in Shawnee, KS where they started their family. In 1974, Don graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College and opened Webb Chiropractic in Diamond, MO, returning to the area to be near family and friends. He retired in 1996 and his son, Dr. Wayne Webb, took over the practice. Don's grandson, Dr. Brandon Webb, joined the practice in 2015, the third generation at Webb Chiropractic in Diamond.
Don and Lucille enjoyed many activities that often included: family, friends, games and horses. He was a longtime member of the Newton County Sheriff's Posse, Riders and Rigs Saddle Club, Diamond Lions Club and Diamond School Board. Don always felt it was important for kids to be involved in school activities and 4-H. They traveled far and wide to attend ball games, county fairs, ride in rodeos, go on trail rides, and race Quarter Horses. Don raised most of his horses during their 34 years of Quarter Horse Racing and spent time with them every day until recently. He was always ready for a game of cards, marbles, dominoes or Monopoly and will be greatly missed around the table with his wit and luck.
Don is survived by his wife, Lucille Webb, Diamond MO; three children, Brenda Sicker and husband Tim, St. Cloud, MN, Dr. Wayne Webb and wife Shannon, Diamond, MO, and Vicki Wright and husband Preston, Diamond, MO; eleven grandchildren, Drew, Chase (Jolene), Josh (Jenna), Angie, Christopher, Brandon (Jolene), Jessica (Brandon), Lucy, Brantley, Jamison, and Parker; 14 great-grandchildren: Aleyna, Taylor, Ashley, Britney, Boston, Ainsley, Hayden, Kayson, Gavin, Annabelle, Colton, Owen, Maja and Connor; and one sister, Linda Rasmussen and husband, John, of Neosho.
