Neil Fugate

Neil Luther Fugate left this world on September 1, 2018. He was born in Nowata, Oklahoma February 13, 1920 to Morgan Prince and Retta Smith Fugate. His childhood was spent hunting, fishing, riding horses and exploring the woods, rivers and prairies of Northeast Oklahoma. 

Serving in the US Army during WWII, he was stationed at Dutch Harbor in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. 

On April 12, 1944 he married Neva Nadine Frost. They established their home in the Mount Moriah Community near Carthage. He and Neva had five children, Russell (Wendy), Douglas (Janet), Joyce Moore (Ron), Brad (Sharon), and Kevin (Glenda). 

Neil is survived by his wife Neva, his five children and spouses, ten (10) grandchildren and twelve (12) great grandchildren. Neil retired from the former Atlas Powder Company in 1983 after 32 years of service. 

Graveside service and visitation for friends and family will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Paradise Cemetery.
