Kathleen Margaret Vinyard, age 85, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018.
She was born January 4, 1933, in Muscatine, Iowa, to George and Elma (Hines) Slattery.
Kathleen was a graduate of Muscatine Catholic High School. She earned her LPN from Nurses Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was a member to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City, Missouri. She enjoyed painting and making Papier-Mache Santa Clauses.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jack “Jay” Vinyard and Steven Vinyard; two sisters and one brother.
Kathleen is survived by two daughters, Diana Vinyard and Elaine McKinzie and husband, JC, all of Joplin, Missouri; one son, Timothy Vinyard, and wife, Laura, of Joplin, Missouri; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Following Kathleen’s wishes, she will be cremated and the family will hold a memorial service in Muscatine, Iowa, at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
